Raised and taught to respect life in modest Christian laborers family in multiethnic town of Priboj near the border with Bosnia. Having survived nineties in Yugoslavia, Boban entered primary school where he achieved great results on national level in field of geography and showed skills in art. In mean time God blessed Markovic family with another child, the third son David. After graduating from primary school as valedictorian, Boban entered local Gymnasium (Gimnazija, Priboj). Young Markovic showed particular interest in problems of society and intercultural relations. With his 17, Boban received scholarship and went to the USA through youth leadership exchange (A-SMYLE) program. Living in the host family near Seattle and attending GPHS, Boban developed leadership, organization and debate skills while presenting Serbian culture. In May 2009 young Serbian received Presidential volunteer service award (B.Obama) and got honored by Rotary club for outstanding academics and citizenship. As a member of debate team Boban got membership in National Forensics League with merit degree. Continuing his HS education back in Serbia, Markovic reformed student parliament, making it one of the best in Serbia and became its president. As the first student member of the School board he gained significant rights for the students. With support of American council and A-SMYLE alumni Boban organized volunteering actions and educational events in his hometown. Motivated and diligent Markovic became coordinator's assistant in local Youth Office and one of the founders of volunteering center, the first in that part of Serbia. Short after that, Boban became first member of non government sector who addressed local parliament and passed youth strategy. In November 2009 Boban Markovic visited NATO HQ in Brussels and met officials of Czech republic and EU in Prague, in organization of International Security Affairs Center. With 18, Markovic twins (Boban & Ivan) did their first research work on topic "Attitude of society toward persons with disabilities" which was published and presented in Prishtina in Dec 2009. In summer 2010, on invitation of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Aleksandar II Karadjordjevic, Boban attended garden cocktail in "White Palace" as a member of OSSI (Organization of Serbian Students Abroad). In spring 2010 Markovic visited Serbian National Assembly where he met his mentor Igor Zlatojev, after 2 years. Bob presented his devotion to community as blood donor and furthermore he signed personal statement of "Organ bequest" and entered process of potential "bone-marrow donation". Althogh not blind, Boban Markovic can use Braille's alphabet. He speaks Serbian (native), English (fluent) and uses basic Spanish and Russian. By meeting Bob in person, it is easy to discover that he loves Coffee and Chocolate. From time to time, he is party guy, but nothing wrong with that. Cooking is not his passion but he enjoys in it occasionally. Today Boban Markovic is studying Political Science & International relations and Business administration at American University in Bulgaria.
